Backup copy to external ssd
In my opinion this option lacks the functionality of a real sync like on the NPS-10.
I tested this functionality like that:
import of CFExpress card to internal ssd (2 folders) -> backup copy to external ssd. Update of CFExpress import on internal SSD (now 3 folders).
Second backup copy to external ssd -> no request for update of existing data -> second card folder was created and complete data was copied again.
First and second import located in now two card folders on external ssd, the two folders from first card import were doubled up. Is that intended?
Also when import from card to internal and external SSD at same time, the folder names (int/ext) were different (suffix). I expected them to be equal.
Which function is to be used to do a "real" sync update to external ssd?
Thank you for the feedback. 'Update' function of the TAINER currently disabled for 'make secondary copy' option. We found possible conflict when mixed use of 'Update' function for 'Multi-copy' and 'make secondary copy' together to the same memory card. But you are right. We will try to fix it at next firmware V4.0 late this year or early next year. For the suffix difference problem during 'Multi copy', thank you for the suggestion. We will fix it later firmware too.
By the way, my e-mail does not reach you, so please explain us more details on your naming suggestion here. Following is answer to your question before.
[, I cannot well understand your suggestion 1. Naming. Can you please explain me more detail?
Currently, if you select ‘customize mode’ at the Folder naming option, you can enter your preferred name to the TAINER. Once your preferred name entered, TAINER adds postfix number like ‘_001’ to make full name. So once you enter ‘Koln-2024.8’, final back up name shall be ‘Koln-2024.8_001’. Then next time you add memory card to backup, TAINER suggest you ‘Koln-2024.8_002’. You don’t need to re-enter ‘Koln-2024.8’ again.]
