Temperature while backup

When files are copied from XQD/CFExpress/SD Card to internal SSD temperature of card, internal SSD, battery and case is increasing.

That is somehow normal process when doing file operations on SSDs or flash memory devices.

I already owned NextoDI NPS-10 XQD which has almost same behaviour, but the battery of this device is not that close to SSD like with Clouzen Tainer V2. Clouzen Tainer V2 is getting quite hot, as battery is very close to internal ssd I would like to know how safe this is.

After copying files from my CFExpress card to either the internal or external SSD, the CFExpress card becomes too hot to touch. Understanding the laws of physics, does Clouzen recommend a remedy for this excessive heat situation -- such as applying thermal tape to the internal SSD to better dissipate heat away from the CFExpress card? Being too hot to touch is not good for either SSD and this excessive heat will decrease the lifespan of both SSD's. Your recommendations are eagerly anticipated. Thank you.

Heat is the final boss in product development. There’s no way to achieve high performance without generating some heat. CFexpress cards, which are designed with performance in mind, consume a lot of power — often more than internal SSDs — and therefore generate more heat.

To minimize heat buildup, we’ve designed the TAINER with an aluminum enclosure to help dissipate heat efficiently. If you're concerned about heat, as you mentioned, applying thermal tape beneath the internal SSD can help. Make sure the tape makes good contact with both the SSD and the PCB — the thickness of the tape is important for proper thermal transfer. This can reduce the internal temperature by about 2–3°C.

Applying thermal tape on top of the CFexpress card connector can also help, but space is limited in that area. That said, feeling the TAINER get warm is actually a good sign — it means the heat dissipation is working effectively.

In fact, we conducted four separate 7-day, 24-hour continuous stress tests under worst-case conditions, and the TAINER passed them all. As long as you're using one of our recommended internal SSDs, you can trust TAINER to operate safely and protect both your CFexpress card and SSD.
